My horse means everythink to me, she means more to me than anythink, i would hate anythink to happen to her, she means more to me, than my boyfriend!!

My mom said the other day, it will be awful, when any think happens to Molly.

They make me laugh.

It's like having a bunch of friends who are always there for you.

Some you get on with better than others, some you can identify with better than others.

Now you ask, goodness only knows REALLY why I have them, it would take an expert psychologist to work out my REAL reasons for having nags.

Well one thing is they don't go on at you , much better than chidren who never shut up! They are willing to play our silly games & ask for nothing in return.

I can identify with that Wally. My lovely horse is a constant source of amusement to me, with her funny wee habits and unpredictable behaviour (donkey to racehorse in 5 seconds, thats my girl!:D ) She is great therapy too - if I'm tired, or I've had a bad day at work, if I'm in a bad mood....I just have to see my gorgeous neddy and all's right with the world :D. (Does that make me sound really sad??!:o )

"they make me laugh" - I've learned to laugh at Bon's antics. He's taught me to understand him better so that I can. I think that if someone can laugh at their horses' goofs, it says alot about their partnership.

My horse is a source of learning and growing. He helps me be a better person.

Wally's right, they are a bunch of mates you can have a laugh with - or an argument, in the case of Gelfy the Git.

I think one of the reasons I have them is that they take me as they find me. If I do right by them, then I have their trust and their friendship and I never have to worry about what they think. Very few of the relationships I have with people are as straightforward or as honest as those I have with my ponies.

I don't know... they just give me a buzz watching them in the field... to be able to just sit there and be part of their lives for a while - well it's special, isn't it?

And Tootsie... you're right - the best teachers I ever had were equine!!

:D

Stel and Udo mean the absolute world to me. I was 39 before I got a horse of my own - and then I have ended up with two! I have a lovely husband and son, who have encouraged me to get back into riding and bought me two horses, an ex racer mare and a Friesian gelding. I had to give up my job as a commerical property lawyer due to ill health and was unable to ride for over a year. My boys nagged me back into the saddle and boy am I glad. The horses have been the best therapy I could ask for. I'm not always that good at expressing what I get from them, but I think most horsey folk know what I am getting at - total joy! I feel very very privileged and very grateful to be fortunate enough to have them in my life and even my fortunate to be working with horses on a daily basis now and I sooooo appreciate them.

I was not in the best of moods this morning as my car was stolen and found burnt out close to my home - the horses greeted me with their usual whinnies this morning when I eventually got to the yard, and in Stel's case she puckers up and gives me a great big kiss - all that stress disappeared, its only a car, that can so easily be replaced but these two characters ... well they are irreplaceable.

Rio gets a kiss as well:o

She's just so big soft and gentle and always pleased to see me (OK I feed her...). It's very peaceful being round her:)

What my horses means to me is something I really can't put into words. I do know that when our horse trailer was hit on the way to a lesson, (and the trailer was totaled but indestructable pony was unharmed) I have NEVER been so scared as I was between the moments when we were hit, and the moment I was able to jump out of the truck and run to check on my baby to make sure he was ok.

hi all ,my ponies are special because they were all the ponies other ppl did not want to tackle , charlie was a late cut colt with attitude i turned him away for aweek and let him chill out .
then we had to get to know each other ,well he had no respect and treated me like another horse invading his space ,,he attacked me with teeth and front feet ,he was on the end of a pressure halter and working rope ,and i was just exsplaining about his space and mine and asking him to back one step out of my space ,,any way long story short he still has stallion cheek
but we now have an understanding and trust and he is being backed and ridden away by me this year age 5 ,charlie is special
because i ask him and he tries for me he is a horse on the feild
but my freind when we are together ,he will never be a childs pony and may have been ill treated because he was headstrong if i had not bought him we have a special freindship .

my other ponies came from all walks of life with different problems ,we now talk and they trust me and they are all very special little ppl and we enjoy fun and each others company , they are my life and my hard earned money gives them health and comfort and they give me pleasure and a reason to try to understand them and i will never want to stop learning .

i love horses but my heart goes to the special ones that are unhappy and and have the need to talk and to be shown life is not all bad and learning to trust again , my hat is off to those of you who may have had a problem horse or what ever kind of difficult horse for what ever reason ,and you have managed to put things right ,just afew of the many are lucky ,but many are not as lucky .

best wishes .
