can anybody tell me how to clean suede leather? I ussually scrub my half chaps with brush and water when they look really crappy, but try to avoid overdoing it. Is there a special cleaner for that? cause I doubt saddle soap is good..

Suede half chaps and full chaps can go in the washing machine on the wool wash, NO DETERGENT, just plain COOL water.
When you get them out get a bowl of warm water and a bar of saddle soap and get the water all cloudy with the saddle soap. Then rinse your chaps through with the cloudy, soapy water then do not rinse again. Hang them out to dry in the fresh air and then you can use a brush on them to bring up the pile agian.
All my suede chaps go in the washing machine this way. Even my shoeing chaps go in for a wash when they are really minging!
So long as you use no detergent- only soap and saddle soap they will be fine. Dry them in the fresh air not on a radiator or hot air vent and the suede will not suffer.

I wash my suede half chaps in the washing machine with a special detergent from Mountain Horse. It works well but it's not cheap.

i have suede full chaps. i put them on and scrub them with a dandy brush under the yard hose, then when they've dried i clean tack wearing them and use the saddle soap and neatafoot on them.
