Your Horse mag

I notice that this month's Your Horse had a letter from someone requesting that they show more piccies of adults riding ponies. Hear, hear!

I do enjoy having a read, but can't help but feel that lots of the articles are aimed at competitive riders. The only people I know who compete are teenagers who get all their info from pony club anyway, not Your Horse. There's not a lot for ordinary riders like me, who still want to learn and have lessons, and go to fun rides but nothing high level. The lessons seem to be focussed on jumping and cross country etc.

I want to see normal folk getting lessons on their fat ponies. More about aspects of hacking out - ie how to cope with spooks etc. Ideas for a bit of schooling out on a hack. Ground training, clicker training etc. Confidence issues

How about experiences and advice about combining riding with having children. What are the options? What are the difficulties?
Do lots of people end up selling their horse? Can you ride while pregnant?

Experiences of keeping your horse on working livery, loaning, sharing etc.

Any other ideas anyone?

Your Horse is an excellent magazine, but I agree it is aimed at those riders who compete on their expensive horses! There does seem to be more articles on keeping ponies at grass, Tellington TTouch (with Sarah Fisher - took my rescued Lurcher to one of her training days - excellent!), veteran horses etc. However, would really like to see more for those who own fat/furry ponies, adult novices etc.

Isn't there a mag called 'Pony' though?

I've seen a pony mag that is aimed squarely at young children, with puzzles and pull out posters and stuff.
