Hi everyone, since i have last wrote a message i have been working with the horse who has been very nasty he pinned me up the wall with his back end and tried to bite me lots of times he was very scary and it made me nervous of him but i carried on and never gave up he wants his own way all the time, i went up again today and we fetched him out of the field and i started burshing him he was going frantic he would not stand still i could not brush one side he kept turning his back end he was more bothered about shouting to his mate in the field in the end we fetched her in and he calmed down {do you think i gave in too soon} he then let me brush him i decided to lunge him today there were two ponys in the field next to where i was going to lunge him i was a bit unsure but he has got to learn.

I lead him down to the field he was blowing hard through his nose my friend who owns him went to do some jobs and let me get on with it ...............Well i was calm plenty of voice commands he was walking great but all of a sudden he would break into a buck rear cantering off pulling me well i could stand that and i calmed him down this happend lots i was so fed up in the end he bolted towards me i had to move out the way quick so that was it i took him out the field and walked him down the road to calm down i them went and fetched my friend and she had a go he did the same with her and after a while he calmed down and did a great walk trot only he did not bolt at her like he did me i dont no why may be because i'm smaller than her he feels he can rule me please let me no what you think and any ideas would be great do you think it may be to dangerous for me am i taking on too much?. can he be calmed down?

wel remember when u put your arms out it makes u seem bigger than the horse and they dont like it so maybe u could try that and making alot of noise at him so he learns whos boss. it could be possible that he thinks he can dominate you so i'd keep on with the lunging but be very very aware that he does seem to have these nasty turns. also tell someone that you are with him because if something happens and they dont know where u are its very dangerous. i think this horse is just showing off aswell, and maybe trying to impress the mares as some poeple thought in your previous post. i hope things get better for u and i hope u get some better advice than mine lol :p good luck with this horse and be careful!

I know this doesn't help much, but he sounds very spoilt to me. He needs to learn who's boss...like now. But its no good you teaching him if his owner continues on the same thread.
If you cant do it, get a pro to. :)
