A couple of weeks ago I was feeling exceptionally brave, bouyed up by how well my lessons were going, that I bought a pair of beige breeches. I've always avoided light coloured trousers because of the size of my 'arris', so I quite shocked myself buying these.

The only thing is, when I got them home and looked at them in natural light, they are really more of a taupe/light khaki colour than beige, so I'm not sure whether they'll be suitable for competing (mind you I'm only planning to do a w/t test at the end of the season... if things go well!

I'm going to (watch) a big competition this week end, so I'll slyly scope out what everyone is wearing.

Oh another thing, they are ribbed (cos ribbing hides a multitude of sins) not smooth, will this make a difference?

Thanks!

Hi, I think your suposed to wear white breeches for dressage. But at a low level I'm sure beige will be fine.

I'm not sure how khaki your breeches are but I don't think it would be proper turnout. You might be better in proper beige ones. As for the ribbing I assume you mean kinda like cords, I think they will be ok.

In the US, neither the particular shade of off-white/yellow would be a problem, nor the ribbing :)

At lower level dressage any kind of light?natural coloured jods are acceptable, at higher and affiliated I think you have to wear white but otherwise you'll be fine.
