Hopefully tommorow i will get the amish guy and have him trim my horses feet. He justs trims them and not shod or nothing because i never ride my horse on the road or nothing so no need too. Especially the fromt feet, they are out of shape and cracking. I would have rode him today but when they are in that type of condition i really dont like to ride him because he could trip. He has done that already and its very uncomfortable. After that he loves riding and does a better job and really picks up on the aids better . Tommorw its soupose to be sunny out so nice riding. After when my horse has his feet done is it ok to ride him after that, the same day ?

You don't say whether your horse is currently shod and this will be his first barefoot trim or whether he is normally barefoot and this is just a normal scheduled trim.

If you are taking his shoes off and going for trimmed barefoot it may take you horse a while to adjust but that will also depend on where you ride. Unless your horse is very touchy in the feet you should be able to ride on grass and other soft surfaces immediately but it may take some time for the feet to harden for other surfaces.

I've ridden Cody after a trimming, but he was alittle foot-sore because of it. If you ride your horse on softer ground (try to limit the amount of rockey paths you ride on), he should be ok. Also - take it slow, and go at his pace. You'll be able to tell pretty soon if his feet are hurting him, so let him walk at a speed comfortable for him (ok, it took Cody and I twice the time on our way home, but we were going at a pace he could handle).
But then again, it all depends on how short the farrier trims them (sorry, the Amish guy ;)).

Do you get your horse's feet trimmed every 6-8 weeks? Sorry you didn't say!

No , mostly one to two times a year. My horses feet dont really grow as like other peoples horses do. I do not know if thats just his genes and just the way that he is. Thats what the guy said too was just two times a year. I have gotten them trimmed now , but rode him the day after that because of the time and the weather was raining. Anyways he said that they are in good shape and very hard. So now i and my horse feels better and safer.
