Personally I wouldn't feed anything if you're not too sure about its suitability for a particular animal. It's better to be on the safe side. There are loads of things to feed horses if you want to give *** bits. Try giving your horse an apple, (not a green one) in its feed, suitably chopped up into suitable sized chunks.

Tattie peelings are fine, In know of some horses who are fed on boiled tatties, does them no harm so long as you introduce them slowly.

The reason that potato peelings are looked on with suspicion is because any green bits are poisonous, as is any foliage or flowers and any white sprouts (so any potatos that have started to sprout should be peeled and the peel not used). This applies to all animals including humans. Remember potato is a member of the Nightshade family and deserves some respect.

However if you use the rules; not to feed your horse something that you wouldn't eat and always introduce foods slowly, then potato skins, or potatos could be nice treat or useful nutritive additonal feed.
