Following on from my 'first dressage test and I came last' thread, me and pickleweasel have confused our selves and wondered if anyone could answer the following two Q's.

In collective marks each section is scored out of 20. I scored 5's yet it seems to read that marks were 2x10 so did I do really bad and score 5 out of 20?

Also, does anyone know on prlim 4 how the marks are allocated for the working and free walk section (again 2x10 marks)

Hope that makes sense to someone in the know, its as clear as mud to me!

Have just replied on your other thread but will try to make this one clearer. Where the marks are 2x10, they will only write down ONE score, but this is multiplied by 2 - you therefore got 10 out of 20. Otherwise, if you got (as you thought) 5 out of 20, that would be 2.5 out of 10, and they can only score whole numbers, not halves!
If your sheet has a total score aswell as a percentage, you can add them up to check this.

Free walk is scored out of 10 but has a coefficient of 2 - just means that when the scorers add it up they double the mark the judge gives.

This is done at all levels for movements that are considered particularly difficult.

Free walk and extended walk at all levels have a coefficient of 2 - if a horse is tense they just don't walk well.
