We are going to be getting a trailer soon (yay!) and are going to a Parelli training weekend about 1/2hr away in early June.

Now I have a set of 'pony' travelling boots but nothing else, so I would like to know people's recommendations for travelling boots.

I am assuming the set I have will fit Rupert, but if they are too small (he wears 'cob' tack) I will need a set for him. He is 13.1hh and has fairly fine legs (he is a fairly lightweight New Forest) and so I would like any recommendations of travelling boots that are a good fit on this type of pony.

Pablo also needs a set. Now he will be very scared of them at first as he thinks all boots are out to eat him  so we need a pair that will not frighten him further by being too restrictive/bulky/slipping and they need to be easy and quick to secure as he will probably keep faffing about with his legs while we are fastening them. So a nice well fitting pair with easy fastenings would be great. He is a 15.3hh Clydesdale X, fairly heavyweight and feathered. There are photos of Rupert and he on our website, see the www icon below this message.

Any recommendations? Particularly for Pablo as he has never worn them before and I need it to be as good an experience as possible :) Rupert is fine with boots so I just need size/brand suggestions.

I have Masta halfies for Doll...they're pony sized but fit her, so I imagine they'd fit Rupert :)

They're VERY easy to do up, quick to put on, and not at all restrictive (I've attached a photo of Dolly test-walking them)

The pony rambos are very good and fit our 13hh fine legged pony. What about bandaging the youngster that cuts the bulk and they are unlikely to slip

Thanks all. We have ended up with a set of weatherbeeta boots for Rupert and a set of Horseware ones for Pablo. We were slightly limited for choice...typically we went to Robinsons (as we were down that way anyway) thinking that would give us more choice:rolleyes: It was fine if you had a cob...but Pony and Full seemed in short supply....in any brand. We ended up annoying all the assistants by sending them hunting in the stockroom for the sizes we wanted. We chose the Horseware ones for Pablo as they looked the only ones (from the brands available) that would actually fit a chunky horse rather than a TB. We hesitated over bandages for Pablo....and if we have real problems introducing the boots we can return them (we will make sure we are very careful to keep them clean...luckily it isn't muddy where the horses are!) and I will use my bandages. Rupert's set look the right size...they are rather girly purple..but then he is rather a wuss:D Why is it so difficult to buy pony boots in anything other than purple, pink or lilac?
