Seasons???

My filly is rising three this summer and has never had a proper season last summer she had what looked like a season for about three days but never again since? I just wanted to know when to expect her to start being regular?

Also are there any supplements I could give her to encourage her seasons to be regular?

if she isn't in regular contact with a stallion then it's perfectly normal for her not to show in season. a lot of ours don't show at all and you'd never know when they're in season, and that's with 3 stallions on the yard. maiden mares who haven't had foals especially, often never show signs of their seasons unless there's a sexy man around.
ther's no need to be giving her supplements unless you've had her examined by a vet and she is definitely not ovulating, and only then if you want to breed from her.
visible signs of seasoning is a bit like PMT and cramps in people - not everyone gets it.

I am shelling out £20 every 2 months for supplements to STOP Mysy from being hyper and flirtacious, why do you want her to come into season - think yourself lucky!!

There is one mare at the yard who has never shown when is season. Shes 13 and hasnt had one visible one - unbeleivable really!

That would make sense as she had her first season when we put a gelding in with her. I was just concerned that she could have an infection or be barron and that I might have missed something - I have only ever known mares who show their seasons

I read your post Jay O praying for a 5 day season you must have it bad with PMT for her long ones ;)
