Fantastic, you'll be on your L2 by the time I (hopefully) see you in a couple of weeks....are you now in the suspense of waiting for your L2 pack to arrive? When you are up here, make sure you watch Kirsty and Mabel and Liz and Boots (if she is there) doing liberty work, they are L3s and it looks amazing  Mabel is a gorgeous clydesale X and makes Pablo look like a lightweight :D (they rather liked each other though, Pablo obviously has a soft spot for the bigger girl ;) he kept doing dirty little chuckles at her:o while she fluttered her eyelashes at him :D ).

Thanks everyone!

Esther - we've already started L2, i bought the pack last year as we needed to move the babies on with their ground skills, so i'll be getting a L3 pack!!!

The OH is planning to start videoing his L2 liberty this weekend!

Surely Mable can't be chunkier than our Fatty!

Aww Pablo's in love!!

Really looking forward to next weekend, especially now i've seen your photo's!!

The OH is planning to start videoing his L2 liberty this weekend!

At this rate you'll be onto L3 by the time I see you  :D

Just had a peek at your album...she is as heavy as your fatty  she is honestly about the biggest (as in chunkiest) coloured cob I have ever come across:eek: But very very pretty:)

They are all gorgeous - who are you bringing up?

We're taking Jack (looney TB) and Fatty (real name Patrick!).

I'm really crapping myself about taking Jack though, not really done much with him the last few weeks, due to hayfever and studying, so you'll probably see a mad bucking bronco!

Fatty has been a little foot sore lately, due to the hard ground and his old pedal bone injury, but i've ordered some no-bute stuff today, so hopefully that will help.

But if he's not right, we have the youngsters as back ups!

Can't wait to see Mable, she'll inspire OH with his fatty, as i think he was a bit worried that he wouldn't be able to take him to L3 because of size.

Very excited now, made the "what to take with us list" and everything!

Kirsty was a bit uncertain of whether she could do L3 with Mabel for that reason, but she is doing great :) Her size hasn't stopped her at all, some things were slightly more tricky with a big cob but she seems to be flying through it now:)

dophi_arno - just 3 or 4 steps! in L2 they ask for 361 degrees.

It doesn't need to be perfect for L1!

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Good luck with your video and don't forget to tell us when you've passed!!:)

Congrats again to you and Jack, you have been on your PC as much as me today:D
Really looking forward to Saturday hope your OH does some L2 while I'm with you. I know I'm a way off that yet but I would love to see it.

Best wishes

Wow! Is that all?! Maybe I should have assessed ages ago. We're going 360, driving on just body language, disengaging from circling game from an evil look towards the hindquarters... oh dear.... I've become one of those people they talk about all the time, those that get stuck on level one and stay there forever :( and I've been dying to move onto level two for ages!

Better get the camera and go film it then!
Thanks for that :)

edit: woops, I forgot to ask... how straight does the online sideways have to be? When we do it, it looks like how Pat and Chinook do it on the video, with his hindquarters lagging. If I try and drive it, he just starts trying to trott while going sideways... *sigh* sideways is our weakest thing

dophi_arno - we we're those people too!

Sideways - aslong as his hindquarters don't drag more than 45 degrees thats fine.

Sounds like you should have got your video done a long time ago!!

Get the video camera out and get it done!!

Wow that's fantastic news. Well done. And there's me carrot stick in my bedroom, Partnership Pack in my lounge and I haven't started yet!

Am I right in thinking that you have to have passed L3 to start youngsters? Or is that a figment of my (rather vivid) imagination? Only asking as I *might* get a youngster.

Blossom - they do say that but its not a rule set in stone, its just a guide, i started Parelli with my babies at 6 months old as we didn't have any other horses to do it with until last year, then we got Jack and Fatty.

We did go and have a private lesson with a Parelli instructor to make sure we were doing things right as we didn't want to mess up the babies. They're 3 yrs old now and are excellent.

It is best to start with an older horse, it makes it a lot easier, but if a youngster is your only option then go for it but make sure you can get some help intially to put you on the right tracks.

Thanks for that Alibi.

I have Katie my IDx to do Parelli with, although we haven't started yet and Katie is still recovering from a virus. I can't wait to start though, it looks great. Which community are you in?
