I wanted to try no stirrup work to help my balance and I have heard people talking about posting without stirrups. How can you do this? Dont you need your legs in the stirrup to push yourself up (with help of the horse's 'bounce') Please help, I really want to try it!

nope, you don't need stirrups to post. Instead of standing up in the stirrups going up let the horses bounce get you up, then use your upper theigh muscles to let yourself go down gently. posting without stirrups is very hard and it takes a lot of practice to become good at it. when you do it i suggest just doing a couple strides at a time or you will get tierd and start bouncing all over and that wont help you or your horse.
