Hi All,

I had a great lesson last night as practically no one showed up so got a free private :) I am finally feeling like an active rider and not someone who just steers the horse and hopes to stay on. HOWEVER, I am now noticing all the little details I need to work on.

On our 20m circles, my horse is moving too much off my inside leg (now that I've finally figured out how to use it effectively). What can I do to keep her from falling out? More outside leg? Outside rein? Any advice would be welcome as I really want to work hard for a horsie who is working so hard for me :)

Falling out is when the horse's weight is distributed more over the outside legs, so to bring him back into balance push down more on the inside stirrup when his ribcage swings to the outside.
Hope it helps

Consider your rein and leg on each side as a wall; when riding, you keep the horse between the two walls.

When the horse moves too much in one direction, your wall has fallen, and you must strengthen it. So if the horse moves toward the outside, use a little more pressure on that outside "wall" to keep him where he is.

If you want the horse to move out, lighten the outside wall and increase the strength of the inside wall (and vice versa).

Hi .. well i wanted to tell u how to turn either it be a small or a big cirlcle.
Well! when u want to turn lets say on the right forehand,
1- U HAVE TO SHORTEN THE RIGHT REIN
2- LOOSEN {I MEAN loosen} the left rein.
3-TAKE THE RIGHT LEG AWAY FROM THE RIGHT FLANK OF THE HORSE.
4-PUSH OR APPLY PRESSEURE TO THE LEFT FLANK OF THE HORSE.
note: u have to shorten the rein {whichever side u r trning . COZ without shorteneing one rein and loosening the other the horse will not turn.
plus u also have to be encouraging.
ALWAYS SHOWW CONFIDENCE TO THE HORSE NO MATTER WHAT U DO.
THE HORSE NEEDS SOMEONE TO TRUST.:)
BYE
MEERU...DO TELL ME HOW U PROCEEED.
