I am not sure, but I think It is the same. Maybe look at a store and see if it says men's or woman's on it???

It might be cut differently.Men usually have broader shoulders then women so coats probably have to be cut to accommodate that.
Helmets i know are the same;one of my guy friends has the same helmet as me.
Boots might be wider around the calf and bigger because men tend to have bigger feet and stockier legs.

thanks for that charismatic! I might go check out those boots. My feet are extremely wide, and when I was younger I had to wear boys shoes to school :( ;)

Yeah, I think they are generally the same, just different sizes and cuts.

generall the same except for the cuts of clothing, ie: men may be taller than some women so jods will be mad to accomodate each sex.

There really is a difference in male and female riding wear. The cuts are certainly different to accomodate for different body shapes.

As a guide for jods check the sizes, if it gives a size as for example 10-12 it's a female item and is sized accordingly. If the size is given in inches for example 32 inches, then this refers to waist size. This can be a unisex measurement but is usually male. If possible with male sizes, look for a leg length too, Long (L), Regular (R) or short (S). Best tip, always try riding wear on as the sizes can vary enormously.

Mens riding gear is usually more expensive in my experience. If you can fit into a pair of womens jods I don't see a problem. Beware though as mens jods usually come only in Black, Beige/Cream and Navy, with occasionally Dark Green or Burgundy. So if you choose the Purple pair with Sky Blue inserts people are going to know you've shopped across the gender lines. ;)

As for jackets, women's jackets are cut to allow for bosoms obviously, so you probably would be better off getting a man's jacket. Again, try them on, and even better, ask the tack shop to measure you for it.

With boots, women's boots usually go up to a maximum size 8. Men's sizes beyond that. Many boots are unisex, and many boots have male and female versions. Best to ask if unsure.

If buying online then it's best to e-mail the store's customer services to enquire if you're unsure. And be sure to find out the stores return policy just in case items don't fit.

Remember, retail staff are there to help you so don't be afraid to ask. :)

Good luck.
