I had a really kool ride 2day. Atom was so relaxed, he did gymkhana games for the 1st ever time and didnt spook once. We didnt win many games but we were only playin against my m8. We kept on swapin horses and it was great fun.
Anyway i was wondering if any of u had any ideas for gymkhanas or games 2 have a go at. I would really aprecte it.

bending, bobbing for apples, egg and spoon race, you can make up your own games. Bobbing for apples is my favourite, everyone ends up soaked.. my team always wins at that one :p

If you go to www.ponyclub.org you can find the rules for the USPC games. You have to click on something to get to the games site, but I can't remember just what right now.

I like rescue race.
you need 2 people, a leadrope and a fence. one person gets tied up to a fence at one end of the school with a leadrope while the other person is at the other end of the school on the horse. the person on the horse has to race to the tied up person, get off, untie the person, get the person on the horse (they have to sit on the horses bum) and then they themselves have to get back on to the saddle and then race back.

walk trot canter lead - walk up, trot back, canter up then leap off and run back with your pony!
potato race - have the buckets one end and either 3 potatoes or stones and you get the stones or potatoes and put them in the buckets but you can only do one at a time (i was never any good at this my pony didnt like the bucket or the potato!!!)
mug race - similar to potato race except with a mug and you dont throw it in the bucket you just put it on the end pole
role out the barrel - you could use the milk crates for this, you start with all of the barrels in a row and you take it in turns to jump them, then you slowly take one away until you've only got one left, then you turn it on its side so its at its narrowist the most accurate wins. For this you need a pony who doesnt mind narrow jumps!!
You could also combine afew games into one to make an obstical race, so you could start with bending then have a jump, then you could get off go apple bobbing, and bring the apple back and put it in the bucket and then go and get the second and so on!
I know some other games that my sister plays but they are not really gymkana games, but she finds them fun anyway!!
hide and seek on your pony - your pony might find this boring tho!
She also play a game where some one hides a carrot and her and her friend have to look for it, the winning pony gets the carrot!!
They also play tig on their ponys aswell!!!
Oh i know another game, you set up a few jumps and put a marker near it (either numbers or dressage markers or even some card with a number on!) and someone shouts out a letter or number and they have to race to that jump with that number or letter on it, the winner is the one who clears the jump first!
