He looks a nice type. How does he move etc?

He looks massive too!

I think i have said in another of your threads. I got to shows hoping for a good performance and if we get a rosette its a bonus! So I'd just go and have fun:D

Hi gemma, he does move really well when he can be bothered to work on the bit, he can be very lazy but once worked in he will listen and goes great.

He is 16h 1 but doesnt feel so big when your on board, but by god do you know he is stood next to you when you are on ground level, scary for me being only 5ft 3 and a bit.

I have attached a photo for you of him when I got him only 6 mths ago bless him he looked like a bloody donkey !!

Cheers

if you put a flat wide noseband and browband on him to make his head less plain and lots of show shine and babyoil. Relax and enjoy the day, you might get lucky at your first show like i did (9 seconds at my first show!!)

Well with some god working in I'm sure you'll be fine. Just find a nice quiet spot and chill out. If he hasn't done much before it'll be new and exciting for him too!

Don't mean to sound funny Kanuma but his head isn't at all plain! I think he has a lovely face, likeing the blaze alot. But i do agree with the flat noseband and browband. Has your new double got these? Its correct turnout for hunters.

I found your girth distracting. (white sheepskin?)
Something darker would blend better.

gemma i cant see it properly so im guessing any way but the wider the nose band the less plain the head looks (hence why arabs have rolled bridles and showponies have stupid little things that break if you look at them the wrong way!!!) stan has a realy wide noseband on him and in my experiance hunters mainly have plainish heads (plainer then im used to with an arab and showponies!!)
he is lovely overall and i didnt mean to offend anyone!!! sorry :)

tips: anyway lots of show shine and keep the quatermarks very simple!! keep the ridden show as short and sweet as posible judges hate people who go on for over about 3 mins!!! a simple figure of 8 in trot and canter with an extended canter down one side is the best! if you are going to use makeup around his eyes practice at home alot (nothing looks worse then bad makeup!!) relax have fun and treat it as a learning experiance!!
