Hi,

Does anyone have experience of working with these two trainers or know anything good/bad about them?

Thanks

I know them both, David quite well and I have met Ferdi and obviously know of what he does by reputation.

Ferdi is VERY expensive and you are unlikely to get him interested in teaching you unless both you or your horse are very talented (and wealthy!!), but he is a very nice bloke and obviously one of the best trainers in the country.

David knows what he is talking about and trained at the Spanish Riding School and used to ride Reine Klimke's horses for him. He charges a realistic price that is within the scope of most aspiring dressage riders but does not suffer fools gladly. I would highly recommend his wife Serina to you. Her lessons are very clear and unambiguous and you could always 'progress' to David after you have been there a few times and heard him teach someone else if you wanted to. Serina schools and competes at high levels herself and I find her a very good teacher. Last time I had her for a lesson it was about £35

Whereabouts in Worcestershire are you?

I've visited Ferdi Eilberg's when I was on work experience (the dressage rider who I was working with, was having a lesson) I didn't see much of the lesson, as I was on camcorder duty myself, but he seemed very in-tune with the horse and rider, although it was all very top-notch stuff. If the actual rider he was training is anything to go by, he has taught well!

His yard is beautiful mind, but SHOCKINGLY spotless, I think it had had toothbrush treatment.
