Am totally new to riding and am wondering if there are any riding intensive 1-2 week training camps/schools for adults? (they would provide horse)
I live in the Indianapolis area but would travel a bit.
Am intimidated by the process and want only a pleasure sort of training for beginners but not looking for the haybag on vacation camp thing.

Hi! I have heard good things about a place called Heartland in mid-Ohio, so it shouldn't be too far away from you. Someone on one of the Horsenet forums (great site) highly recommended it. Website is heartland.com, but the last time I tried to log on, the site was under construction.

Sometimes an adult beginner can really feel alone. I know I did. Tons of kids at the barn, but not too many beginning adults. If you want to chat further, feel free to E-mail me at kelleher@brown-szaller.com

Good luck!

Thanks for your response. Will check it out. Have been initially trying out dressage.....went to check out a saddlebred barn - not for me. Have a friend that rides a Tennessee Walker - rode him today. Initial feeling is it is probably not for me. Have info on a place to try out Western this week. What do you ride?
