I am entering three shows this summer, one on the 18th of July, one of the 1st of August and one on the 22nd of August. I am entering the same inhand classes at each one. I am entering Youngstock (in-hand) and Coloureds in-hand. What should I be wearing and doing to Mysy?

For me: I was going to wear my tweed hacking jacket, shirt, tie and trousers (black) with my joddy boots. I was told i dont need to wear jods and long boots for inhand?

Mysy: I was planning on just leaving her completely natural with a bitless inhand bridle on. I am not cutting her mane or plaiting it, but shoudl I be doing that?

Your turnout sounds ideal. You'll also need a hat and hairnet on.

As for mysy. It all depends how you want to turn her out. If you have her as a native type. Then au naturel is correct. You could always ask the judge what he/she thinks you should turn her out as at your first show.

That should give you a clear idea of what she'd do better as.

Good luck with it.

Ok, thanks :d

So, i dont need to wear jods then? I can wear my black trousers? Yay :D. And about the hat/hairnet, do i actually 'have' to wear one for inhand? I am over 16 so i didnt think it was necessary? Maybe I am wrong

I would prefer to turn her out at a native type. I love her thick tail and mane and want to keep it long and flowing. the day before the show though, i will tidy it up a tad :)

And will do, I will ask the judge

You don't HAVE to wear a hat but its better if you do. It doesn't have to be a riding one, but you should wear some kind. Have a look at Es' site I think that has an example.

Yea you can wear your black pants. I wear mine when I show Taff.

I'd leave her native then just ask around at the show. See what people think.

One more question: On the entry form, it says 'name of horse'. I know to put her name but I am guessing you have to put a show name? Mysy doesn thave a show name  :(. Shall i quickly make one up, or just put Mysy?

And if anyone has any ideas on a show name for her....

You can put whatever name you like down. You only need touse an official registered name if the class you are doing is a qualifier where you need to have a registered horse.

So Mysy will be fine. Isn't her full name Mystique?

Ok, thank you :)

yeah, her full name is Mystique (well done for remebering) but I dont really like it much. I guess i could put that down, its a bit more 'flashy' than Mysy for a show :D

I think mystique is quite nice. But if you want to make a new one up. I think something about marble should be in there. Thats what her colouring always reminds me of when I see piccies.

I just put Taffy on lots of entry forms if its only a small show. But if its a powsh one Taff gets his powsh name too:D

Oh, whats Taffy's posh name?

I like the marble idea, thats quite different. She could be 'Miss Marble' - isnt there someone called Miss Marple? Like a detective show or something isnt it lol.

Thanks again :D:D

Taffs posh name is Dolau Dictator. He should be more of a Tim nice but dim. But thats what he was registered with.:D
