Penny and I went out again today...on our own I am just so pleased that things are starting to click into place in my head, and that I am gaining confidence every day!
We had a lovely ride to St Johns Village and back, there was just SOOOOO much going on Penny's eyes nearly popped out of her head! The was some sort of Footie comp going on, cars we parked all the way down the road for about 200 metres, so we got past them, and then there were LOADS of (lucky) people sat outside the pub drinking, one did ask if we fancied a pint, but Penny wasn't having any of it!
Back down the bridlepath, and no incidents, although I am still getting off BEFORE the scary calves, so that they can not chase me, and mummy can calmly walk Penny past so that she knows that there isn't anything to be afraid of!
The in the field before the river I practised some of my dressage test exercises...that is two weeks away now so I am practising everywhere I get the chance! Off into the river, we can't NOT go for a swim, and then back home...all safe and sound...and mummy beaming through pride and happiness! I knew I enjoyed this solo riding lark too!
(I do get some of the strangest looks by pedestrians, people in their gardens etc when I am chatting away to Penny, and telling her all about the 'scary' things that are coming up! This seems to help, as if I am giving her a warning so she doesn't spook!) Even with scary people walking from their driveways, we didn't have any spooks today...and my best pal could tell you what Penny is like with people and doorways/driveways etc, they can really freak her out for some strange reason!
