Misty's saddle pad is getting a bit lumpy from too many washes, its a rambo one from horsewear.I like it cos its got all-velcro loops which makes fitting easier, but she sweats up a lot under it, especially under the saddle flaps. Does anyone use a saddle pad that is really well-padded under the saddle panels but thinner under the flaps (I think cottage craft make them) Or would i be better off trying her in a half-numnah sheepskin-style type?

The griffin high wither half wool numnah might be worth a try, I have one and it fits my saddle really nicely. It also has velcro loops, but the top ones do seem to be extraordinarily long.

Iv'e just bought a griffin half wool numnah, but not the high wither version, and it's lovely, as Yann said for some reason the top loops are very long. I'm going to sew a bit more velcro in a more appropriate position.

Correction, I don't think mine's the high wither model, it'll be the same one as yours.
