Another solo hack tonight, and I must be getting better as I actually had my first solo canter on a hack since I was 13!!!!! After my lesson last week I was determined to practise to get a better seat, and it was just wonderful!

Instead of just tootling around the block ...which normally takes us an hour, I did some trot work down the railway line, and then cantered to the gate before the scary cows, although I still got off to walk past the cows as I don't want to ruin all my good work! I will know when I am ready to ride her past the cows again!

And then in the field before the river, I completed my dressage test, albiet very badly ...but more importantly I now know that I have memorised the test in full! Just got to work on the movements now! And to finish it off, I did a few circles of canter on each rein, and I have not felt so good in a long time!

I am off to the beach again tomorrow, so I'll be cantering up and down all day!:D :D :D :D

Marvellous.

LEaps and bounds...thought maybe you were going to say you'd started jumping ;)

When I think you have come one so much one week, you do even more the next! :D

That is brilliant, I know hacking for lots of people is very difficult alone, and cantering alone is a huge acheivement!

Whens your dressage test?

Thanks guys!

Galadriel...jumping isn't on the agenda until next year! Although she was trying to jump across the streams that lead into the sea at the beach today, she cantered through them, but had to jump out as if it were the water jump at badminton! Silly Girl!

Gemma - Dressage test is on Sun 18th July, so plenty of time, not going to practise the test too much, just work on the movements individually and then bring it together next week! So that I don't bore Penny!;)
