1-0 to me!!!!! Woo Hoo!
I went out for a lovely solo hack with my trusty steed last night, and what a fab time I had. Penny has improved SO much out on her own, although I have a feeling that it is actually me that has improved, and therefore my confidence now gives Penny confidence (if that makes sense!)
We didn't spook at ANYTHING (not that Penny's spooks are big, she just plants all 4 feet!), not even a head turn! I trotted all the way back down the bridlepath, and then even cantered up to the calves!
As I approached the calves which caused Penny to canter off the other time, I could see that they were over the far side by the house....ohhh..shall I try it I said? As soon as I thought that I knew that I wasn't thinking 'let's get off' so I kicked Penny on, and starting flicking my crop around her head, just like I had done with the huge cows on Saturday! And it worked again! I think it was helped by the fact that the calves were over the far side, and they are getting bigger, so closer to cows these days, so they are not into chasing Penny down the hedge!
All the same it is an achievement for me and my confidence, another day, another result! Big grins alround!
Got back to the yard to Angie who was mowing out the new arena (It looks ace!) and so Penny and I had to have a go of the dressage test, and it was a lot better, so good day alround!
:D
