Hiya all, Well I'm off to college in september and have been told I need to buy a body protetor if I want to do any jumping on the course.
SO I was wondering if anyone has a preferance or one to recommend?
I have been looking at the race safe ones....They seem to have the most movement in them because of the lots of little ssections. But are they up to standard?
So any suggestions would be great thanks. Oh also, Regarding size, are there any that are more generous in the bust, but short and quite narrow?
Thank you!

Hi gemma,
I have a Airowear reviver (Sp?) I find it very comfortable now, although it did take quite a while to mould, about 2 months. I also had it altered and shortened at the base so it fitted my properly.
If you look on the BETA web-site they tell you which they reccomend I would reccomend getting a level 3 protector so it covers you for everything.
Others on here say Airowear are very uncomfortable but I think it's a personal thing and whichever you find the most comfortable, fits you the best and is within your budget you choose that one.
Try on as many makes and styles as possible so you get a really good idea.

Hiya Gemma,
I have an Airowear too, and I found it to be comfortable, and would definately get another one if I needed. I think you may be best going to a tack shop and trying different types on, you can always then try and find a bargain elsewhere, but at least you know how they all fit?

On eof the kids on the RDA group I help with has just changed her body protector to a race safe one and the smaller sections and increased flexibility have made a big difference to her riding and especially her dismounting. Yes they do have a level 3 standard.

I own an airowear body protector, and would not buy another. I have worn mine extensively for cross country in the past 5 years, and it is STILL stiff, hot and generally awkward.
I borrowed my friend's racesafe, and WOW the comfort! The smaller sections make a huge difference in the comfort. Not being vain here, but they also look far nicer - much less of the hunchback of notre dame effect. It's also a bit cooler to ride in.
Regards sizing.. it has lace up sides which allow some adjustment in the fit.. I'm not really sure what body shapes it would fit best, but there are a variety of sizes, and fronts and backs may be able to mix and match to get the best fit.

Thanks all. I think I might have to go for the racesafe one. I used to have one imilar about 10 years ago and it was great for jumping in.
I will try some others I think too. But the race safe looksthe comfyest.
Thank you :D :D
