was looking at these pix of my lad the other day, and although this is where im warming him up so im not asking for an outline, did look at these pix and think, wow, he looks to be moving nicely and appears very happy.
Im going to attach a couple of pix of him lazing around, and one of us schooling a while back when he is in more of an outline, tell me what you think please!! but be kind ;) :p
p.s. APLOGIES FOR NO HAT, BEFORE YOU ALL JUMP ON ME ;)

Hmm, have you stretched those pictures when resizing them? They make him look short and long-backed, and you short and wide. Except in the third picture when his front leg is reaching forward you can see it's not really that short. His face looks happy anyway.

He looks really content and willing to move forward freely which he woudn't do if he wasn't.
Very calm, I really like him!!!

I don't think the pix have been stretched whilst re-sizing, thats how they appear on the larger ones
he is very long in the back, he's 13'2hh but takes a 5'9" rug!

Outline is not just about head and neck, it comes from behind. In the pics where you say he' "lazing around" he's actually starting to use his back end properly to go forwards. If you start all of your schooling sessions like that, then take more of a contact but continue to ride the same (forwards!) you'll end up with a much happier horsey AND that outline you're all so obsessed with! :p #
Cute piccies by the way!

Calsanjo - Thank you, the lazing pix were at the beginning of our schooling session, and when i looked at them i did think he was using his back end, but wanted someone else to confirm this for me :D im not overly obsessed with his "OUTLINE" as such, but he can be incredibly lazy with his back end :o so its nice to see that without a lot of huffing and puffing from me he will work nicely!

I actually think that the last pic is really lovely and he is in an outline.
I'd much rather see pics like that than ones where the horse is being restricted with too much rein contact and not enough leg to create a "pretty" but incorrect outline.
He looks lovely!
