I was just reading an ad for Equi-spot, which is suppsed to repell flies for up to 14 days after applied. Has anyone actually tried it? Its pretty costly, about $60-$70 for 3 applications, but if it really works I would get it, as my poor girl (amd all the horses!) are plagued by the darn things.

Thanks!

Try the cheaper stuff - equi'spots competition - it works just as long and is only around $20 for 3 apps.

Thanks...I also just found a place that has it much cheaper then what I originally thought. I will give it a try. :)

I think the one I use is called Spot-On, but I think it's the same concept. I primarily use it because of concerns about Deer ticks (and the Lyme Disease they carry). I haven't found ticks on Bud since I used it, but I do still supplement with fly spray when riding out.

i use spot ons on all my horses and it helps them a lot. But i also put fly spray on their legs and neck and rump. It helps keep all the ticks off like kedwards said. But i think they help a lot.
