Oh goodness, a friend of mine found a vaulting surcingle last week and we decided to try our hand at vaulting on my 15 hh quarter horse gelding.
Now we're hooked. We have a friend joining us who will let us use her percheron mare to vault on, and I'm so excited. The thing is, we only have minimal knowledge about vaulting. I know some of the basic moves and stuff, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good book or resource for HOW to do it. We know a lot of the movements, but I'd like to start with easier movements that will improve my balance and strength before I try the harder movements that may (and probably will) be more likely to injure me. >^.^<
Any tips or books on exercises we could do?
I would LOVE to start a vaulting team at the barn where I ride. We have access to some good horses for it too- lots of percherons :)
