Hi ive been looking round briefly for the past few months for a new horse, the one i loaned previously was sadly put to sleep after a leathal attack of colic last febuary. Now its the summer and i have too much time on my hands whcih reminds me of my last summer with trixy ive decided to find myself a horse but to no avail, i wondered if anybody on here knew of anything?
Im looking ideally (but will be fairly flexible) for a 14.1-16hh heavywight-or weight carrying cobby type of horse as i am 13stone myself (although tyring to lose somethis summer! As i am only 5'3" i cannot afford to go much higher in the upper height limit and i am a little bit sceptical that this may be too tall still...unless it is a good horse-not strong-a big strong horse and me will not mix! I am an intermidiate rider but looking for a horse suitble for a nervous rider (as i can get nervous easily!) Im sitauted in the NorthWest (cheshire) but the problem im finding is that im looking to LOAN ONLY at the moment and then buy in a few months...we've recently had to pay out £4000 for a new central heating system and kitchen since the boiler burst a few months agao and we've just saved up for those...hence we have no money to buy a horse at the moment...i could guarentee that we would definatly keep the horse becuase (unless for a gunenuine reason) we would never give up an animal!
If anybody can help me find the perfect horse to help me grive it would be much appreciated...i can be contact on here or via e-mail at gparry6035@aol.com

regards
Anne Parry

i can't help you horsewise but i can offer you some advice, check out local magazines, riding schools, etc to see what there is available. Buy Your Horse, they have lots of horses for sale every month!

Go to Dreamhorse.com or Equine.com and click on advanced search and type in everything you want in a horse, it will also ask howfar your willing to go to pick it up, so if you type in your zip code and then however far your willing to go a bunch of horses will show up in that area with everything you want...then you can pick!
Hope you find a great horse :)
also check your local newspaper in the classifieds, thats where i found my horse.

You definately DO NOT need a heavy weight to carry you. Most medium weight ponies (14.1hh) will carry you with no problem and anything bigger will be fine for you.

There are plenty of horses for sale, I found a good way of gettign a horse is to actually place an advert in a good magazine and advertise that you are looking for a horse. I bet loads of people phone you.

In the meantime oyu can view other horses as well that you have seen advertised.
Also think about the work you will be expecting you rhorse to do, I mean you don't want to be paying £5k for a dressage horse only to ever hack out.

:D

Good luck on finding your partner.
