Pairs dressage...

....I have just heard about this from another forum, and it sounds interesting...well all that I know is that you complete a test, but with another horse and rider.

I have never seen a comp on the Isle of Man, but hey, If I could find out more, I could always be one of the first to hold one!

Does anyone out there know where I can get more info - the British Dressage website is pants, couldn't find anything relating to pairs, but that could be me not looking in the right place!:rolleyes:

That's called a Pas De Deux. In the US they actually have a few tests written up for it as well as some quadrille tests (four riders do a test.

ITs pretty easy to come up with something, you and the other rider really have to look like mirror images though. Like if they canter at A you canter at C, you both meet and start a circle, one starts at E the other at B. You can keep it as simple as you like or make it really complicated with a bunch of meetings with the other rider (s), its a lot of fun. I've never competed at it, but I've done some of it with my friend at the stable. We want to do one for christmas to Carol of The Bells...hehe.

Hey! i have done pairs dressage elementary and we won (im in NZ)! If you can find somewhere to have a go, do, cause im sure you guys have a lot more competitions than we do, and its so much fun. If you can lengthen and shorten a little and keep an eye on you buddy then you should be able to make a good go of it. We werent mirror images either and the judges loved it. il explain. She did a fifteen metre circle in canter then medium down the long side. I did my medium then my fifteen and we met at the same time. We couldnt have done it at the same place cause we would have crashed. So if your keen get a buddy and get inventing see what you can do and what you can show off together. Good luck!
