Dear All,
I thought I'd post this here, as Heather's book is the reason for my query! I am a very keen (though sadly not that talented) rider - I do not have my own horse, and being a poor student, only get the chance to ride once a week if I'm lucky. For years I have been going to my weekly group lesson, and despite the odd private lesson, I feel that I've been in a rut for about the last 4 years! A few weeks back I read Heather's book, and it was a revelation! I now see a world of riding possiblity opening up to me, and even though a lot of the stuff covered in the book is beyond me at the moment, and I don't get to ride that often, I feel a renewed enthusiasm to get out of the rut I'm in. As a result, I have decided to treat myself to a residential riding holiday, with lessons as well as treking for a couple of days, but I am really keen to go somewhere that embraces Heather's methods. Does anyone know of a friendly place for the novice rider with lots of bad habits that fits the bill? I'd consider anywhere in the UK, and I'd love to hear everyone's suggestions.
Cheers,
Jen

Hi Jen

Why not contact Heather to see if she is running any seminars this year. My friend and I went on her first seminar last year - a 5 day seminar with individual assessment and guidance/tuition on our riding, videos, demonstrations and a wonderful hack on the moor.

We're hoping Heather will hold a reunion seminar for us this year, we all enjoyed it that much!

Alternatively I often see adverts in Your Horse magazine for horse riding holidays here and abroad, combining hacking and lessons. The Yorkshire Equestrian Centre seems to ring a bell. I also have info on a lot of places in Ireland - try this website: http://www.ehi.ie.

Hope you find something to help you get out of the rut. You could even try a different riding school for a change of scenery, or hire a horse from them and go hacking with friends to different areas.

Good luck
