Question on behalf of a friend who is looking for a bit for her young gelding; what is the differance between a sprenger kk conrad ULTRA bit, and a sprenger kk conrad TRAINING bit?
I think the differance is in the link used is this right? Has anyone used or had any sucess with these bits?
Thanks

My mare has a Sprenger KK Conrad training bit made from Aurigan alloy and she loves it. Not that I have a clue - but her trainer said that was the best bit she knew of for training a young horse, so that's what I got ;)
Looking at some web sites I read that "the KK Conrad training bit has a slightly less tilted forward bean than the KK ultra". I haven't got a clue what that means to the action though...

I think the ultra is supposed to be based on the latest research done by Sprenger - ie the shape has been changed slightly to better fit the average horse's mouth.
Of course, since most horses' mouths are probably not average, the best bit will vary from horse to horse.
(My gelding is in an ultra and my mare in a regular KK and both go well in them.)
