Please!!!!!!! I really need help...

My horse is really gate sour please does anyone know how to fix a gate sour horse, I've tried waiting her out and forcing her to go but then she just stops next time around, please when I first got my horse she had a lot of little problems and this is the last one please I would be so so so so grateful if someone could lend a suggestion?????????????????????????????????:(

you should really give it a few days to get some responses, you can't expect an answer within the first half hour you post your thread.

In any case i may have something for you to try. Is this just problems going through a gate? If that's the case, you can try this exercise that we use at my stable to get horses onto a trailer. When leading your horse and she stops because she doesn't want to go through the gate you have to make stopping an annoyance. With a long dressage whip hold her head like you are trying to pull her forward in the direction you want her to go. Firstly this puts her head in a wierd position and she's going ot have to hold it there. Next you take your whip and tap her on her shoulder, rear, wherever you can reach the easiest. don't tap the chest, she may confuse this with backing up. But keep tapping, this couple with the position she has to stay in will be really irritating. reward any step forward with stopping what you are doing, praising and treating if you like. Then go back to what you are doing until she stakes another step.

This may take a lot of time, she has to know you have all the time in the world to wait for her, it may take a few sessions to get it to work too, getting a horse to go where it really doesn't want to go can take a lot of time so be patient.
