Hello
I want to buy my girlfriend a pair of long riding boots. I know she likes the really long ones with dressage bows, but where's the best place (or website) to buy them from in the UK?
Regards
Paul

Where are you situated? It's probably better if you take her to try them on as different brands have different fittings. I like Ariat and Tredstep but only get the short joddy boots and gaiters.
The YO at the dressage yard where I rode used to tell us to buy boots/gaiters with 'dressage tops, long and tight' ...... I've got BLISTERS from my long and tight gaiters at the moment where I wore jods which were thicker than normal and the seams rubbed

you havent said where you are loacted.
i live in scotland, edinburgh and there is a GREAT place in dalkieth for riding. its full of everything. i got my first riding clothes there including boots. They have soo many different makes....my long boots are toggi. My toggi boots dont have the bow though but they have lasted me for well over a year and they are good quality.
good luck

Gaiters tend to be tighter fitting, usually made of leather and shaped more like the 'top' bit of a long boot! They can be worn in some competitions as long as they are the same colour and leather as the joddy boot.

The best thing to do wud b 2 take her 2 ** nearest saddlery and let her try loads on. This is probably the easiesat thing. I have toggi boots which i love but it all depends on the individual person.
