Hi guys, my first show of the season (!) and it's a hunter show. I've decided to go into the 2"3 and 2"6 classes, but the problem I have is that I get exceptionally nervous! The height really is not the problem as I've jumped up to 3"3, but I've only ever jumped this horse once, she's a real school mistress though. I guess what I'm asking is that does anyone have any ways to deal with nerves, and just to relax? Or just words of encouragement would be helpful!!

also was wondering what everyone thinks I should do with this mare's mane. she's an appy and has a mane that sticks straight up. all the other horses will be braided. oh what shall I do?

Braid the mane if you can.

The best advice I can give you for the nerves is to plan on going just to have fun and play around on the course. If you can keep that sort of attitude, you'll be able to stay relaxed even if things don't go exactly as planned.
