I am now on my second pair of Requisite (Robinsons own) jodhpur boots. I had the first pair 3 weeks and the sole split so I took them back and swopped for another pair of the same, ive had these 2 weeks and theyve done the same  They were exactly what I was looking for, lovely colour, really comfy and not a bad price (£35) Can anyone reccomend any similar boots? They have to be brown and I want to pay about the same price, £50 at a stretch. This is a picture of the Requisite ones

Have you been to Derby House lately? They have a little warehouse at the back, past the stables, where they have loads of discounted / end of line stuff and there's usually loads of boots in there.

They had loads of Cavello jods too at 1/2 price, shame my big behind couldn't fit in them! :D

I think Loveson jodhpur boots are really comfy! I have a pair of Grosvenor ones which I got about 8 years ago when I was 14. I got about 2 years intensive wear out of them then & they're still really comfy now and aren't really worn out. Think they're around £35 as well so great value for money.

Hope this helps,

I second Mountain horse!

I have the protective rider paddock (lace up) boots for everyday riding, and the sport jodhpur boots for showing with my leather gaiters, both very comfy and hardwearing!

I have a pair of Ariat lace up paddock boots, although they also do jodhpur boots. They aren't the cheapest around but are very comfortable and look smart as well. Here (http://www.ariat.com/products_listing.aspx?cid=1&scid=9) is a link for the page with their paddock/jodhpur boots!

Sounds like you might be in a "you get what you pay for" situation. Cheap boots may be badly designed or have inferior materials...if you buy more expensive boots, it's not as common for them to just fall apart.

I have Ariats that have lasted me 6 years. They're terrifically comfortable, so I wear them frequently: riding, stable work, when I'm going to be on my feet a lot (not at the stable) and so on. One of the teething rescue dogs even got his paws on them and chewed on them (both!) but they still work fine, they're just not as pretty... these things are durable.

I understand that for people with wider feet, the Ariats are not as comfortable; also, the Ariats with zippers are more prone to falling apart if you have a foot that stresses the boot (wide feet or high arches).

For people who wouldn't be happy in Ariats, I understand that Blundstone and Mountain Horse boots are much more comfortable, and possibly about the same level of durability.

Mountain horse boots are very comfortable and very durable, but not at all suitable for shows, as they really look a bit like biker boots :D

Ariats, bit more pricey, not quite as hardwearing, but very smart.

I also have owned a pair of aquacats, which weren't bad, survived two muddy winters, but looked worse for wear after that.

I swear by Ariats and will never own another brand of paddock boots. My first pair of riding boots (well, paddock boots, when I first started riding) lasted 6 years, and they were sooooo comfy and well-broken in that I endured the pinching from my feet growing out of them for the last two years because I loved them so much! My second pair of paddock boots was the exact same style and everything -- Ariat Freestyle II. I love being able to lace them up as I please (tight if I am not riding, loose if I am) as well as the extra bit of give (most important when breaking them in!) that the elastic inserts on the sides offer.

Just like galadriel, I love to wear my Ariats whenever I am going to be on my feet a lot. In fact, I can walk around Equine Affaire and the Quarter Horse Congress all week and my feet never ache, but stick me in a pair of sneakers for one day at work and I'll beg my beau to give me a foot massage! :p
