BRAMBLE

I had a lesson yeasterday, and we were doing grids.
I was riding a 15/15.2hh cob called Ben, who bucks if you hit him on the bum, (so he was bucking with me- but he DIDN'T get m off- haha!) --ANYWAY-- And after we did the grids, my instructor took some of the jumps out, so it was like a triple, and the 2nd jump was a 3ft spread, so i wasn't impressed with being asked to do it with Ben acting as he was, but i did it, and he bucked in the corner be4 (more of a handstand) and so when i went over the spread, i lost both my stirrups, and nearly flew off, but i did it again.

THEN........ the other 3 people said they wanted it lowered, and that they wouldn't do it if it was that high, so therefor ruined my fun as my instuctor wouldn't let me jump it when it was smaller!!!  :( .

And it's the fact that they allthink they're brillliant.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that happend to me once. my instructor wanted me to jump a 2'6 line on one of the new school horses. this was my second time riding her btw. I didnt want to as she was bucking an crow hopping anc kicking every witch way, at to add to it she has a tennincy to umm... swim I guess with her front feet. I asked her to lower it and she said no so i did , got bucked off and broke my ankle. I've learned to make sure your heard and stick to your guns. tell your instrutor that you dont feel comftorble and you would like to start out a bit smaller and take it from there. and if she doesnt ask her to again and just repet that you dont feel comftorble. I do it all the time. one time the instructor wouldnt lower it and instead raised it. I just got off the horse and walked out.

and about the other people, just 4get them lol

There's still plenty to work on with lower fences, such as getting your horse to go through calmly without bucking or working on your position. Really, that can be as much fun as jumping bigger stuff, and will pay off more in the long run.
