I have a few problems with riding, and the rest of the whole stables and saddles and stuff I can handle.

1) I dont know how to handle and move with a horse when he is trotting. (rising)

2) I am allegic to the dust, and am sneezing constanly and dropping my reins to cover my nose.

3) I am a small, short, and skinny little person, and I can hardly lift his feet to picks hooves.

4) I am also allergic to the horse itself.

5) I cant properly take a saddle off of a horse without hitting my head on the horse, or the saddle.

please, someone help!

1) I dont know how to handle and move with a horse when he is trotting. (rising)

Do you mean how to control the horse? If this is so you need to keep the reins short and use you leg and voice to keep the horse going. Ride with the movement of the horse and maybe count 1, 2 in your head to keep the rythmn. You havnt really specified your problem so cant say more than that.

2) I am allegic to the dust, and am sneezing constanly and dropping my reins to cover my nose.
4) I am also allergic to the horse itself.

Um...have you any tablets for this. If its so bad you should see a doctor.

3) I am a small, short, and skinny little person, and I can hardly lift his feet to picks hooves.

When you pick out his feet, run your hand down his leg and grab his fluffy hairs on the back of his hoof and give them a tug. If he is trained he should technically lift his foot. After that sometimes i have problems holding the foot. Good back muscles are the key :D

5) I cant properly take a saddle off of a horse without hitting my head on the horse, or the saddle

Heh :) just undo the girth and place it on the saddle. Slowly slide the saddle off the horse. Dont yank it just slide it :D

Well iv done my best with these questions.

1) Speak to your instructor

2 & 4) As Amy said, if you're taking anti-histamines and they're not working then you should speak to your doctor. Whatever you're doing you shouldn't drop your reins as you then don't have control.

3) Get someone who's more experienced to show you

5) How are you hitting your head? Again best to get someone to show you how to do it properly.

Hi
1) I dont know how to handle and move with a horse when he is trotting. (rising) - Do you mean your having problems with your diagonals (you are out of sync with the horse when you rise?) If so then sit for 2 beats then rise this should solve the problem.

2) I am allegic to the dust, and am sneezing constanly and dropping my reins to cover my nose. - The only thing i can think of is anti histimines (sp?)

3) I am a small, short, and skinny little person, and I can hardly lift his feet to picks hooves. - When you run your hands down the horses leg, lean against him slighty to encourage him to shift his weight and hold his foot up, so he isnt leaning on you.

4) I am also allergic to the horse itself. - Anti histimines again, ive seen some people ride with what looks like surgeons masks because of alergies, but you should speak to your doctor.

5) I cant properly take a saddle off of a horse without hitting my head on the horse, or the saddle. - I think this is happening because you are small? Try standing on something (safe) when you remove the saddle, thats what i do sometimes.

Hope this helps, you remind me of me when i started riding (apart from the allergies).

Good luck

1) Keep working on it, talk to your instructor and he/she will be more then happy to help you-thats what your paying them for.

2) I am allergic to dust to, i dont have a problem with it in the summer cause we ride in the out door arena. In the winter i take Claratin i think its called, its allergy medicane.

3) When you pick up its hoovs, your just holding the hoov so you can pick it...your not supposed to be holding the horse's whole leg. Push up against the horse so he shifts his weight to the other side and it will be alot easier to big up the hoov-it is hard if they dont shift there weight.

4) What kezzabelle and Amy said, talk to your doctor.

5) How do you hit your head on the horse or saddle? Just undo the girth, i take the girth all the way off on both sides...simply slide it off and you shouldnt hit your head. dont pull up and think you have to lift it off.

about the allergies...take piriteze (sp?) it works really well and is strong, i take it in the summer when there is no breeze because of the dust.

Thanks! Your advice has really helped. I asked my trainer about some stuff and she bought a stool for us to stand on when we untack the horse. SHe also found that several other people were having shortness problems, too! :D I can take of the saddle now, but I still have to be really careful. I now also have medications for the horse and dust. And with the trotting- I count in my head like Amy said and it really helps. I was having problems with diagonals. Thaks again! ^_^
