Cloudy has just got a 2nd hand Bucas Altex 2000 lightweight & I was wondering if anybody had any experience of these rugs. Are they good/bad? It seems to fit her well & itll keep the worst of the weather off her in the winter :D

I don't have one, but they have a reputation of being a top quality sheet. Our tack store highly recommends them (they say they're very tough and wear well) and a lady that takes lessons at my stables won't buy anything else. I tried one out (it was very expensive and it was on sale) but I had a hard time fitting my horse...too bad. It really was a lovely blanket. So it's great you found one that fit's your horse!

Got one (not used it yet), but I've also got a heavyweight one which is fantastic. They're a real bonus for me cos they can be put on a soggy horse and they're IMO easily as good as Horseware rugs. Didn't have to double rug all last winter using it, and Yog was out in it with no shelter in the worst of the wind & rain & snow etc. One criticism is that it slips to the right as he always lies down on the same side.

I love Bucas rugs, can't fault them. They fit Jake perfect and have never leaked no matter how wet it has got. Have never used the Altex 2000 but I have the Smartex Rain and have just ordered the Power turnout light. :)
