Hi Kate,
I do not know what class I am doing but I am doing walk trot. My horses name is Starlin and she won National Champion in Scottsdale! She is a really good and experienced horse. But I am still sooooooooooooooo nervous!

Hi Kate,
Yes I can canter and jump. But have not reached the age were I can be in a walk trot canter class. I just found out that I am showing in a pure bread and half arabian class, and the show is called the S.W.A.A. Thanks for the advice, I feal alot better!

I used to show at arabian breed shows. You'll have lots of fun and your horse sounds like she's got lots of experience so she'll probably take good care of you. Just remember to stay relaxed and treat it like just another ride at home. It's exciting to be competing at a show, remember to stay confident in yourself and your riding ability and everything will go well!:)

I just started showing to. of course, i have done a bunch already, but my first one was July 17th. If i tell ya my story, might calm ya down a bit lol....ill make it short.
It took an hour and a half to get my horse in the trailer (it was a new trailer) we got there and we had 5 minutes for warm up. I only got to jump two of the jumps before i had to go on. I have an T'bred/Arab mare, so she is quit stubborn. We got in, the first round she had one refusal so we didnt place. the 2nd class we made it Clear...we got a first!!! how many people can say that they got a first on their first show? so even if the morning starts off terrible like mine...You still got a chance of winning :)
I get VERY nervous, so when i go out i just like to think to myself 'this is a learning expirience!!' or i will think to myself 'even if i dont place, I KNOW i have the best horse out here, i dont need a judge to tell me i dont!' Just relax!! If your tense, your horse will be nervous making things worse! So relax, you know you can do it...your showing people what you worked on :)
Good luck
xoxo

I am allways nervous the day before the show and maybe the morning off. but the second i get on the horse all my fear goes away. i dont know if its because im going in the ring with the horse and not going alone that gets rid of it. but once im on the horse i don't even think about being scared anymore...probably why i hate in-hand so much i get SO nervous! but riding classes im fine.
done worry, i am sure you will do fine! just have fun, its your first show!

Usually in showing classes you will be asked to do a little show of your own. You just basically have a walk, trot canter on each reign to show your horses paces off. Dont worry about it and have lots and lots of fun and good luck
