Has anyone got any good websites where I could buy cheapish 12 foot lines ect from?
I've been on Horse & Harmony, but I can't seem to find any other websites with the same competitive prices. I *hopefully* have a parelli hackamore, savvy string and carrot stick coming my way, so its just the 12 foot line I need really :p
Cheers :)

all the decent stuff tends to be expensive anyway. Get Knotted (www.getknottedropehalters.com) are probable the cheapest but not the nicest you can get. You wouldn't believe how expensive rope can be! :D
Doesn't the hackamore have a 12 ft line as part of it anyway?

try deepwater in Scotland - don't think they have a website, but they make up ropes to order. (Just make sure you specify it right as one of mine came without a popper at the end  )

A hackamore doesnt have a 12ft lead as such....it is the halter with a 22ft mecate attached...10 ft of the mecate is used as reins and the other 12ft is used as a lead if needed :-)

thinks..... you do your "pack" with trigger clip reins. Would you do a similar deal but with the "no fuss" reins ?

cvb,
if you wish to email us we would be pleased to quote prices and shipping costs in pounds for you. We have sold a lot of rope gear to the UK and have made many friends along the way. As an example, today we sent 2 complete full size hackamores to the UK and the total was GBP28.00 each including economy airmail shipping.

Our parelli style 12ft leads are 11.00 GBP and our halters are 5.50 GBP...lol
All made from double braid marine rope ( like Parelli) and will custom make to your horse or ponies measurements at no extra charge ( unlike Parelli) :)

Back to equipment for a minute. We dont care from whom you buy your gear.Natural or otherwise, but always buy with your brain. Ask yourself is it safe for me? Is it safe for my horse? Will it work? Do I understand how & why it works? If the answer is yes in every case, everytime, go ahead and buy.....otherwise wait, research then go play with your horse, its more fun. ;0)
By the way, our site host has dissapeared, we are now at

I went to the local chandlery and bought marine rope there and made it up myself.

Thats what we like to hear.......congratulations. If you want to make a carrot stick, visit our site www.lodgeropes.com for a few hints on how to do it on the cheap.
Well done....the best thing about doing it yourself, you can always do minor adjustments so it fits your horse correctly.
just out of interest, how much per meter or yard/foot was the 6mm / 1/4"double braid rope at the store?
