im showing my friends gypsy vanner in the lavenham show show in september. her markings are amazing and people always comment on how great she looks, even when me and my mate had just tied her up to groom her, after she had escaped and rolled in the muck heap! (feel sorry for me...... i was riding at the time and jumped of just before she rolled. i still came waist deep in manure tho! and the worst thing was the van was just coming down ther drive to collect the manure!!!) I would like to know what kind of things you have to do though. at the moment i walk trot and canter her down the paddock in hand, and have got her standing square and she is ok being touched everywhere. any tips would be appreciated, thanks!!!:D :D :D

Ok for in-hand all you need to do it walk and trot. So no need for the canter.

For turnout, you either wear a in-hand bridle and snaffle of a double/pelham bridle. This should be workman like. Thick noseband and no sparkly browbands. Obviously get her as clean as possible.

As for your turnout smart dress with shoes you can run in. Usually a shirt tie and show jacket with either light or dark trousers depending on the colour of your horses legs. E.g. Dark horse legs, you light trousers.
