at the Ripe old age of 23 we are haveing harvey broken to harness!! we have decided that we realy cant get away with rideing him at shows any longer (he is a 12.2 shp type) and im just too big for him, mumk then decided that he would look stunning in a trap and is going to ask a friend to do it for us (she proffesionaly breaks things to drive!) so my little old veteran pony will be able to add anouther string to his bow and i will be able to say, there isnt one discipline that he hasnt had a do at! You name it he will have done it! once he is broken to drive we are going to do the private drive classes at the shows!
here is a pic of him under saddle this year what do you people thinkhe will look like in harness?

you should see him fully plaited up and trimmed!!! this pony has been to HOYS in his younger years!!!(when he was about 7) i'll post pics of him after this weekend as he is going to the NCPA championship show (he qualified last year at the first qualifier he went to!) and then the next day we are going to a local riders club show so you will got to see him all decked out as a SHP and SP

....and here's me wondering if Torfa will be trainable to harness at 15......... 'I know she will. you can teach any dog new tricks, so long as it's the right dog......these M&M types are trainable to whatever you ikie to teach them....whenever you teach them
He'll look stunning. Nice elegant gig,.....concours here you come!

the only thing im worried about is his attitude of "lets get there as fast as possible" although the lady who is going to train him says it shouldnt be too much problem!! so fingers crossed he goes well!!! only problem then is that we would have to plait him!!

I was at show in Sheffield earlier this year and saw some of the smaller ponies doing the scurry driving, most of them are little welshies, but they went like a bomb and the driving was very accurate. I think he will look superb in harness with a small gig behind him. We are hoping to break ours to drive, but they are 14. plus hands, so not as neat and tidy as yours!!!
Good luck!!!

Not sure a boy of his age should embark on a scurry career, "Career" being the operative word!
A person of his years OUGHT to be showing off in concours classes.
Does he not like being plaited then?

he doesnt mind it! its just i cant plait! normaly for the bigger shows i get a friend to plait for me or i pay some one to do it, at local riders club he does M&M classes but he isnt registered so i cant do it above that level!!
i intend to do the private drive and the concours with him, but after the preformance he put in at the show today i dont thi nk that scurry would be much of a problem (the girl we had rideing him refused to do a second class on him as even in a pelham she had no breaks at all!!)
here is a pic of today's show at the one moment in time where he decided to be good
