We're not sure whether to worry or not - but Fifi loves the hose. The tie-up point nearest her box is right by it. She'll try and eat the hose-pipe if it's in reach (although she also chews her rope, so that may not be related :o) and she tries to turn the tap on herself. Use the hose to run water over her back and it's definately heading towards scarey monster teritory, but hold it near her nose and it's her best friend.

She'll stand there drinking water anywhich way she can - including getting the end of the hose in her mouth and sucking. Then if we give her a bucket of water, she'll take a good long drink from it - downing 1/4 in one go and coming back for more 30 seconds later. And 2 minutes after that she'll drink from the hose again.

In lots of respects it's highly entertaining and really cute - but should we be worried? She has an automatic waterer in her stable and we've seen her use it. She also has a salt brick on the wall that's seeing some action. Any ideas?

In the meantime - here she is with her best friend :D

I would have the auto drinker turned off for a week and not use the hose, just to see how much she actually drinks from buckets,
I dont think its too much to worry about but if she were mine I would like to know whats normal for her;)

Hmm - might have to try it. Trouble is she tends to kick the bucket (if you know what I mean :o). Any ideas for how to differentiate between buckets drunk before and after kicked over?

I have a prob with Podge knocking them over, but I use a big massive toy(d.i.y shops 7 pounds, flexi plastic so safe!) bucket one that holds load of water and is far to heavy even when half full to just knock over. They are the only things that hold enough for him and cant be kicked over;)

sounds promising :)- do you have a picture or a link? She's also really good at re-arranging her bed in the night, usually into any available container..... The sides would need to be quite high to stop it getting straw-logged!

Thanks Perdita - that's really sweet :). I agree - but then I'm biased :o:D.

Hopefully we'll get a decent one of her for the calendar - at the moment I think she's in the comedy section though :p

Have you tried putting your bucket in a tyre so it doesn't fall over?
She is INCREDIBLY cute by the way!
(thanks for the idea about high sides to stop stuff getting in the buckets Tangle, I've been racking my brain thinking of how to stop Max kicking shavings into his water :) )

Wendy, you can read all about the calendar here (http://www.newrider.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40193&perpage=20&pagenumber=1).

I agree she's cute by the way, but then I'm biased ;)
