As many o fyou know I have been looking at driving trials with Rhi. Having got the bug after wathcing the top people at Alnwick and Lowther. Well I asked a few questions on the Scottish Driving board and was given the phone number of a girl who competes highly.

I rang Pattie on Wednesday could not get an answer so left my phone number. She rang me yesterday whilst I was over the yard. Said she would ring me back at 9pm. She did try to ring me back but I was on the phone to someone (you Anth ;)). So I rang her once I realised the time. She was great to talk to and we talked about carriages and the driving club she is in (almost an hout went by). Told not to worry about the hazards as she never practices them at home and just to get out there and do it. Looks like we have a lot of work to do. She has took my address and said she will keep me posted on what is on in her club and where.

Watch out ALF and Esther if everything goes acccording to plan hopefully it wont be long before I can get out there and compete along side of you. Like Esther though I would like to start off with club events first

Good luck in the competitions.

I do however, wish all you driving type people would stop talking about it. I'm starting to get interested in having a go.
I did casually suggest to OH that we train her dressage welshy to harness.
When she finally came down from the roof, the reply i got would get me banned if I posted it here;)

:D :D David have a go. I'm telling you once you start there is no stopping you. Ask Anth. I took him down to the paddock when he came to visit Rhi. I drove her first and then handed the reins to him. I think he was horrified to start off with but then got used to it. Now he enjoys it. Have suggested that he thinks about getting Squirrel harnessed :D

Mind you Esther will tell you I was terrified of the thought of having to ring Patti as I feel so lowly and humble. Glad I did though as she is a really nice person to talk to.

The thought of using the Welshy who already does dressage is very appealing as now more and more of the competition people are looking at using horses that already do dressage.

....hmmmmm...do we have another convert? ;) We are slowly converting the whole board:D Ditto Miriam, dressage horses are in great demand as driving trials horses.

And the divorce lawyers would be fully occupied if I tried it:(

Perhaps I should find someone in northampton to teach me on the quiet;)

Funny you should say that David...ALF on here is a driving trials competitor and dressage judge and lives in Northamptonshire.........:D

My o/h won't let me get my hands on Pablo to drive either, I have been trying for 3 years but he has yet to be convinced  I think he would look great in harness..

Pablo

Speaking of Pablo I had to laugh when I went to the yard this afternoon. The vet was there from Blythmans and the girl who had him out called the vet Pablo. Your horse suddenly sprang to mind :D

Also I have someone who is going to get back to me on whether he has the time to train us up in the basics of dressage. Fingers crossed he ahs the time as he is a jumper really.
