Well, since daughter no 2 is away, I have been riding Vicky, 16hh ISH hippo, she is in foal but not due till May so she needs some keep fit and so do I. She is a real school mistress and I have been enjoying getting back in the saddle (HM Easyfit!)
There were some wee X poles up in the manege so I took a deep breath and popped her over the littlest - she took a huge leap and I wasn't very elegant to begin, but let the reins slide so tried it again, and ended up doing a 90cm upright!
I havnt jumped since 6 months before my last mare died - have ridden very little since then, 3 years ago in fact. My legs were a bit shaky when I got off, but I didn't feel scared, in fact I felt more secure than I ever did before.
