right, I've got a coloured show cob, and next year I'd like to start doing local shows with her, I've been advised to keep my dark grey/blue tweed jacket but to change my tie, at the momment its cream with brown dots, someone suggested navy blue, but I think something brighter, what do you all think, I've got a navy blue with red dots, and I can borrow navy with baby blue lines but I think something brighter would look better, so what colour do you think?

I think it is important to keep your colour scheme simple! I've seem some tutti frutti's out there and I don't think it looks as smart! It's a personal thing though. :)
I would suggest a blue tie that is a shade of blue present in your jacket. If you want to jazz it up, maybe you could use a tie pin or tie bar with a feature ornament. I use a plain olive green tie with a diamond tie pin (not a real one of course! I have horses.. can't afford that! :D ).
No picture sorry, but I think it looks good.

you don't want things very bright for showing a cob. for my brown tweed i have a pale yellow tie with blue dots, and with my dark green tween i have a dark red one.
can you take your jacket to a tie shop (or a handy man's tie collection) and see what you think goes? both my ties are nabbed from OH.
