Does anyone know of a weight chart online anywhere that tells you approximately what certain types/heights of pony/ horse should weigh? Shamrock is due to be wormed this week so will get the weigh tape out and see what he is. Must admit I was horrified by some of the pics Arabmare took!! From the side in them he doesn't look *too* bad but some of the head on ones his body looks hugely out of proportion to his head!!! Just want an idea as to what he should be so I can see where we are with regards to losing, winter, feeding, haying, rugging etc etc!! He is a 13.2 arab cross connemara, 7 years old, and in very light work (as shows badly, lol:o )

Try some of the feed merchants online:
www.Dengie.com
www.allenandpage.co.uk
Or you could go to your feed merchants (where you get the feed for your horses) and they should be able to give you a general idea.
Personally though I don't think that he looks too bad, you have to remember that it is a cross between a very fine boned horse and a not so fine boned.

Not weights - but this site has a very good photographic 'body score' guide. http://www.shady-acres.com/susan/conditionscore.shtml

Ok, thanks all:) Weighed him with tape today and he comes up as 351kg. On KatieB's site it gives a guide as 250-360kg, so I guess he is ok as we are at the end of the summer heading into colder weather etc. He doesn't want to be anymore though so I will keep an eye on him:D
