The vet's coming up this afternoon but Im impatient so want some advice/ideas.
The other day I noticed something in my mum's horse's right eye. It looked like a small, whitish piece of straw husk or something. He was being fussy and squeezing his eye shut so that we couldnt see but I looked at it sideways and it is neither raised nor indented which made me think it was actually in his eye. My mum tried to wipe it off gently but it wouldnt budge so that supports that idea too. Yesterday afternoon it went from being a little foggy to being yellow (it's only about 1/3cm square) so we called the vet to come up today.
When we went up this morning that eye was no different but his other eye was discharging a lot of fluid that can best be described as like milk. It was thick and pure white, yet his eye was only a tiny bit bloodshot and completely open. We cleaned it up and it's now stopped.
We thought it may be a cross infection but the other eye is fine except for this small yellow piece that looks like a straw husk.
Any ideas greatly appreciated. The vet will be there within an hour or two (may even be there now!) but Im confused and want to know what it is!
Thanks people,
Jo and Hector (and Kingie today!)
