This past week when I have come to ride my mare, I have found her to be off in the left hind. The first day I gave her bute and let her rest . The second day my trainer was there and we lunged her and she worked out of it and it was fine.
So here we are tring to figure out why she is sore, and one of our barn mates that does turn out says to me . " Well she is most likely sore from kicking the stall walls in the morning during turn out "
Come to find out that when the horses are going out side she gets a little cranky while waiting for her turn and kicks the walls , some times with both guns.
No Idea how to fix this . I had thought about kicking chains ,or soft hobbles but I am not there every day and the person that does turn out has too much to do to ask her to take them off.
Any ideas would be helpfull

I've put up rubber mats on the walls to reduce the concussion and the sound. That particular horse seemed to get some of his satisfaction out of the loud sounds he was making, and muffling the noise helped. So did reducing the stress of impact (or at least we think so :))

The overall solution was that in general we just avoided the situations where he kicked, unless we didn't have any other option.

I asked about putting her out first , and they have a CERTAIN order that she likes to turn out the horses. I guess the geldings have to go out first, because they have to go past the mares pasture, and if the mares are out and running about it gets them all wound up and hard to handle. :(
