I bought some rubber bit guards to go on my pony's bit, but I can't figure out how to actually get them onto the bit! Am I just being really, really thick? Please help me!

Put them in hot water for a while, then use brute force to pull them over the big rings!

ah! i know :D (thanks, Es!!) - you can manoevre them on with balertwine!!! just put a loop of balertwine through the whole, get a helper to hold the bit and pull one end. you pull the other end and force the thing over the bit ring.

good luck!! :)

Thanks guys! I'll try that when I get the time. You'd think they'd at least include some sort of instructiuons with them, wouldn't you?!

hey holly b, The lady at the tack shop told me how to put them on so no instructions needed but yes they would be useful. I also find they would be useful with many other things ( cant think of an example now ) and people just presume you will know what to do !

Also putting a little washing up liquid over the rings helps to allow them to slip on more easily. Just remember to wash it off afterwards;)

Just to add to Potnoodle's idea...if you put two loops of bailer twine through and two people pull, one from each end, and you manoeuvre the bit through, it's dead easy. Just takes three people!:) :) :)

Sorry, Notpoodle!

My method involves hot water, baler twine, and my dad's muscles! Lol I hate putting those things on :)
